Tanya L. Simmons

Tanya L. Simmons, MPA, CBP, VCA has extensive work experience in human resources and benefits management. Tanya L. started their career as a Member Counselor at Virginia Retirement System in 2000 and later worked as a Sr. Human Resource Analyst at Chesterfield County from 2006 to 2011. Tanya then transitioned to the role of Benefits Manager at Catholic Diocese of Richmond from 2011 to 2013, followed by a position as Benefits Manager at Virginia Department of Health from 2013 to 2016. Tanya L. served as the Statewide Benefits Administrator at Virginia Department of Transportation from 2016 to 2017. Tanya is currently working at Virginia State University, where they held the position of Associate Director of HR Service Operations from 2017 to 2018 and is currently serving as the Associate Vice President for Human Resources.
