Laura Omi Townsend

Laura Omi Townsend has a diverse work experience. Laura Omi is currently serving as the Director of Innovative Partnerships at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center since September 2023. Laura Omi has also been an Advisory Board Member at Kids Can Write, a General Member Board at DECA Inc., and an Advisory Board Member at Impact Living Learning Community. In addition, Laura has worked as an Adjunct Professor and Academic Advisor at Virginia Tech - Pamplin College of Business and served as the Founder and Director of Innovate LLC at Innovate VT.

Laura Omi Townsend has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from Virginia Tech, which they obtained in 2027. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma between 2005 and 2008. Laura Omi'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor's degree in Management from Oral Roberts University, which they obtained from 1995 to 1999. In terms of certifications, Laura is a Gallup Clifton Strengths Assessment Consultant certified by Virginia Tech in 2022. Laura Omi is also certified in Certified Mental Health First Aid (obtained in March 2021) and Family and Pastoral Counseling (obtained in 1999) from Mental Health First Aid USA and Oral Roberts University, respectively.
