Tom Dingus

Tom Dingus is the current director of the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute. Tom has been in this position since January 1996. Prior to that, they were a professor at Virginia Tech in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering from January 1993 to December 1995. Tom was also an associate professor at The University of Iowa from January 1986 to December 1992.

Tom Dingus attended Virginia Tech for their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master of Science (M.S.) in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research with a human factors option. Tom also attended Wright State University for Systems Engineering with a human factors option.

Tom Dingus reports to Timothy D. Sands, President. Tom Dingus works with Kim O'Rourke - Secretary to the Board of Visitors, Sharon Kurek - Executive Director of Audit, Risk, and Compliance, and Charlie Phlegar - Vice President for Advancement.
