Philmika W. Reid

Philmika W. Reid, M.Ed has extensive work experience in various roles. Philmika W. began their career in 2009 as a Therapeutic Day Treatment Site Supervisor at Horizon Behavioral Health, where they managed a caseload of over 275 students and developed relationships with community leaders. From 2014 to 2019, they worked as a School Counselor at Lynchburg City Schools, where they managed a caseload of over 275 students and implemented various projects, including testing schedules and after-school credit recovery programs. Philmika then served as a Mental Health Professional at Centra Health from 2016 to 2021, providing therapeutic services and assessments to individuals in various clinical settings. In 2019, they joined Central Virginia Community College as a Community Connections Coordinator, where they established and executed a communications program and managed the design and delivery of learning solutions. Philmika W. then worked as an Executive Director at Pinnacle Treatment Centers, Inc. in 2021, leading a team and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure program success. Most recently, Philmika worked as a Quality Improvement Manager and Compliance Specialist at Richmond Behavioral Health, where they led quality improvement projects and developed policies to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. In 2023, Philmika will join Virginia's Community College System as the Director of Healthcare Workforce and Community Engagement.

Philmika W. Reid, M.Ed has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion (Certified Health Education Specialist) from Liberty University, which they obtained from 2003 to 2007. Philmika W. continued their education at Liberty University and earned a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from 2007 to 2010. In 2011 to 2012, they pursued a Certificate in Cosmetology/Cosmetologist, General at Central Virginia Community College. Philmika has also obtained several additional certifications, including Project Initiation: Starting a Successful Project and Foundations of Project Management from Google in 2022, Virginia Notary Public from the Office of the Secretary of Commonwealth in 2021, Creating Your Personal Brand from LinkedIn in 2020, and School Counselor K-12 from the Virginia Department of Education in 2014.
