Ella Korets-Smith

Ella Korets-Smith began their work experience in 2002 as a Technician/Graduate Student at Nagy Lab. Ella then worked at Immunovaccine Technologies Inc as a Project Manager/Business Development from August 2006 to June 2007, and later as a Director of Business Development from June 2007 to October 2008. From 2009 to 2011, Ella worked at Immunovaccine Inc as a Director of Business Development, leading efforts to acquire new development partners and licenses. Ella also played a key role in negotiating and completing a major in-licensing deal with Merck KGaA. Ella then joined Nordion as the Global Brand Manager of Sterilization Technologies in January 2011, where they developed and executed a marketing/sales strategy and re-focused the business unit. From 2014 to 2018, Ella held various roles, including Director Market Development at Synergy Health PLC and Vice President Business Development at Advanced Proteome Therapeutics Corp (APTCF). In 2015, they became involved with TO Health!, serving as the Executive Director, CEO and Director, and then Director. Ella joined Antibe Therapeutics Inc. in May 2018 as the Vice President of Business Development. Most recently, they have been working at Virica Biotech since June 2019, first as the Chief Business Officer and now as the Chief Strategy Officer.

Ella Korets-Smith attended the University of Toronto from 2002 to 2004, where they obtained an MSc in Medical Genetics. From 2006 to 2008, they pursued an MBA at Dalhousie University. Prior to their university education, Ella attended Forest Hill Collegiate, though the specific years are unknown. In addition to their degrees, they obtained the ICD-Rotman NFP Program certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors in May 2018.
