Frank Weißhaupt

Frank Wei, PhD, is a distinguished professional in artificial intelligence and machine learning, currently serving as Principal and Director of Data Science at General Motors since 2019. In this role, Frank Wei has successfully led teams to implement large language models using advanced techniques such as VLLM and TensorRT, resulting in a significant business growth of 7x. Prior to this, Frank Wei was a Senior Research Statistician at USDA from 2014 to 2019, where responsibilities included leading a team for hog and pig official estimates prediction and managing complex data processing tasks. Earlier experience includes a position as Research Associate at NISS in 2013-2014, where Frank Wei was involved in data manipulation and analysis for various educational studies. Frank Wei holds a PhD in Computational Science and Data Science from George Mason University, along with two master's degrees in Applied Mathematics and Applied Statistics from the University of Michigan.
