Ian John

Ian John has extensive experience in planning and environmental management, currently serving as the Director of Planning, Permitting & Estates at Viridor since 2003, where responsibilities include overseeing the Estates Team and environmental permits. Prior roles at Viridor include Head of Planning & Permitting and Planning Manager, managing significant development proposals and contributing to policy formulation. Previously, Ian John was the Team Leader for Major Applications at Somerset County Council, overseeing major development proposals and representing the Council at Public Planning Inquiries. Ian John's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Town and Country Planning from the University of the West of England and a Bachelor of Science in Geographical Science from the University of Portsmouth.
