Matthew Hopkins

Matthew Hopkins is a highly skilled engineering professional with extensive experience in control and instrumentation engineering across various sectors. Currently serving as a Principal C&I Engineer at Viridor since April 2022, Matthew provides regional support for the EfW fleet in the South. Previous roles include C&I Technician at Babcock & Wilcox Vølund, where responsibilities involved maintenance and repair at the Margam Green Energy Plant, and E/I Facilities Engineer at The Dow Chemical Company, managing maintenance contracts for E&I equipment. Additional experience includes operations and maintenance at Centrica, as well as a background in instrumentation and process control at Tata Steel. Matthew holds a BSc (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of South Wales and has completed an apprenticeship in process control and automation.
