Sherif Fanous

Sherif Fanous has a strong background in solution architecture and cloud-based technology solutions. Sherif is currently working as the Director of Solution Architecture at Virtasant, where they lead a team of architects to design and implement cloud solutions using AWS, Azure, and GCP. Their responsibilities include maintaining relationships with stakeholders, managing cloud migration projects, and ensuring cost optimization and compliance with FinOps best practices. Prior to their current role, Sherif worked as a Senior Solution Architect at NetCracker from 2015 to 2021, a Senior Principal Consultant at Oracle from 2009 to 2015, and a Solution Architect at Hewlett Packard from 2004 to 2009. Sherif also has experience as a Software Engineer at ITWorx in 2003 and Egypt for Information Dissemination (EGID) in 2002.

Sherif Fanous obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from The American University in Cairo, where they studied from 1997 to 2002. Sherif also pursued additional studies in Computer Science at the University of Washington from 2000 to 2001. In terms of certifications, Sherif has obtained several certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS Certified Security - Specialty in May 2021, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate in February 2021, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional in May 2021, and AWS Certified Developer - Associate in March 2021.
