Wen-Yang Chu has a diverse work experience in the fields of technology and healthcare. Starting in 2009, they worked as a Doctoral Researcher at the Université catholique de Louvain, where they focused on projects such as multimodal sensor fusion and expressive violin synthesis. In 2011, they joined Philips Innovation Service as a Designer in Vision & Measurement, where they remained until 2016. During their time at Philips, Chu also worked as a Data Scientist and AI Engineer/Software Architect, specializing in computational pathology QC and segmentation algorithm research and development. In 2015, they briefly served as a Lecturer in Smart Factory and Big Data at Philips. In 2016, Chu became a Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Virtonomy.io, a VC-backed company that focuses on digitalizing clinical trials using data-driven virtual patients. Currently, they also hold the role of In silico methods deployment in Clinical Development Task Force Co-Chair for the Avicenna Alliance In Silico Application Working Group.

Wen-Yang Chu first pursued a Master's degree in European Master of Science in Research on Information and Communication Technologies from Université catholique de Louvain from 2007 to 2008. Later, from 2016 to 2019, they attended Philips University where they gained knowledge in Agile SAFe, Project Management, ISO 13485, Medical Device Directive, and Structured Architecting. Lastly, in 2006-2007, Wen-Yang Chu studied Information and Communication Engineering in Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya as part of their European Master of Science in Research on Information and Communication Technologies degree.
