Shawn Garber

Shawn Garber has an extensive work experience in the field of bariatric surgery. Shawn is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of New You Bariatric Group LLC since January 2020. Prior to this, they were the CEO/Director of New York Bariatric Group since September 2000. Shawn also held the position of Chief of Bariatric Surgery at Catholic Health System Long Island starting from April 2014. In 2016, Shawn co-founded Virtual Health Partners and served as the Chief Medical Officer until June 2018. Shawn is also the owner of Long Island Minimally Invasive Surgery since September 2000. Shawn previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of SSJA Bariatric Management LLC from January 2018 to January 2020.

Shawn Garber pursued their education starting from 1986 to 1988 at SUNY at Albany, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Following this, they attended New York Medical College from 1988 to 1992, earning a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in medicine. Subsequently, Garber undertook a residency in General Surgery at Northwell Long Island Jewish Medical Center from 1992 to 1997. To further enhance their expertise, they pursued a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences from 1997 to 1998.
