Virunga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Virunga is the continent’s most biologically diverse protected area.

Virunga is protected by a dedicated team of over 600 Rangers. These local men and women go through intensive training, risking their lives on a daily basis to safeguard the Park’s exceptional wildlife, including the last of the world’s critically endangered mountain gorillas.

Alongside this essential conservation work, the Park is committed to supporting local communities. Virunga has a vision for responsibly harnessing the Park’s natural resources to create new opportunities for the four million people that live within a day’s walk of its borders.

This includes ensuring that rangers have the necessary equipment, coordinating transportation and vehicle maintenance, and supporting logistical needs for community development projects. The team ensures efficient and effective operation support, enabling the park to continue its vital conservation and community initiatives.

Logistics and Supply Chain Team

The Technical Specialists team at Virunga National Park focuses on maintaining and developing the Park's infrastructure and renewable energy projects. The team consists of skilled professionals including a Senior Electrician, a Construction Supervisor, a Hydroelectric Potential Researcher, and a Maintenance Technician for the Luviro Hydroelectric Plant. Together, they ensure the efficient operation and sustainability of the Park's facilities, while also contributing to local community development projects.
