Ionut Encescu

Ionut Encescu has extensive experience in the banking sector, beginning with a role as Corporate Relationship Manager at Finansbank from April 2003 to July 2004, focusing on corporate lending and non-lending products. Ionut continued to excel at ING Romania from November 2006 to November 2007, where contributions included opening a start-up branch, managing SME business strategy, and leading teams to enhance corporate business development. Subsequent roles at ING involved overseeing mid-corporate customer management and non-lending product development. From October 2020 to October 2024, Ionut served as Director at First Bank SA, leading product development and digital innovation initiatives. Currently, Ionut is the Director of Business Development for Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Slovenia at Visa. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in International Business and Economics from the Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest and a leadership program at Cornell University.
