Kimathi Marangu

Kimathi Marangu is a Fellow at Stanford’s Distinguished Careers Institute and the former Global Head of Prepaid at Visa, where they led initiatives serving fintech and government clients globally. They co-founded Cartera Commerce, which was acquired by Rakuten, and played a key role in launching the official Cyber Monday website, significantly shaping the shopping holiday. Kimathi holds an A.B. in Economics from Vassar College and an M.B.A. from Stanford Business School, and they actively serve on various boards, including the American Red Cross Bay Area and the audit committees for SamCERA and Compass Family Services. As a strong advocate for education, Kimathi has also held leadership roles in alumni associations and philanthropic initiatives.
