Previously, Shan worked as a research intern at Samsung Research America, where they implemented machine learning for anomaly detection in 5G cellular systems. They also held positions as a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University, contributing to side-channel attack research and securing cyber-physical systems. Shan earned a PhD in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University and holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
