William Sheedy

William Sheedy has been with Visa since April 1993, currently serving as Senior Advisor to Visa’s Board Chair and CEO and as Executive Vice President, with membership on the Executive Committee since 2000. Sheedy has held various leadership roles, including regional president for North America, Europe, and Latin America. Presently, Sheedy is a Board Member of Visa Europe and serves as Chair of the Visa Economic Empowerment Institute, which aims to utilize Visa’s global network to aid policymakers in economic digital transformation. Additionally, Sheedy was the Board Chair of the Visa Foundation until July 2022, focusing on supporting micro and small businesses, particularly those benefiting women, and managing community needs during crises. Sheedy also chaired the Visa Political Action Committee until January 2022. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Finance from West Virginia University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.
