Maxie (PharmD, MS, BCPS, CRCR) is a Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) with HFMA, and supports Visante partners in all aspects of pharmacy revenue cycle. She brings clients well rounded experience in pharmacy operations, supply chain and revenue cycle. Clients benefit from improving interdisciplinary lines of communication, optimizing revenue and improving patient care.
Prior to joining Visante, Maxie was the Manager of Revenue Integrity for Pharmacy and Oncology at SCL Health where she oversaw both services lines of pharmacy and oncology revenue cycles for over five years. She designed and developed the concept of Revenue Practice Teams which treated revenue cycle as a service line and engaged multiple interdisciplinary teams to better optimize front to back-end processes. The Revenue Practice Team became the governing body for oversight and approval of projects, workflows and other changes that impacted the revenue cycle. Due to its success, the organization expanded the concept to other services lines including emergency department, surgical areas, cath lab, and oncology. During Maxie’s time with the organization, SCL Health was announced best mid-size health system revenue cycle in 2021 by Crowe and the High Performance HFMA 2021 MAP Award for Integrated Delivery Systems.
Previously, Maxie was the Manager Supply Chain and Transitional Care at UW Health and Chartwell Home Infusion. During this time, she aligned the hospital and medical group purchasing practices and implemented a new role to better manage drug shortages. Maxie also created the transitional care pharmacy specialist role designed to improve patient care and satisfaction from patients and providers by simplifying the hospital discharge process. The role managed prior authorizations and free drug programs.
Maxie maintains a high level of industry engagement at the state and national level. She was the Chair of the Academy of Health System Pharmacist for the (?) Colorado Pharmacist Society. Under her leadership, Maxie connected all areas of the state through virtual platforms. Her efforts (pre-pandemic) created connections that provided the foundation for statewide communication and collaboration during the peak of Covid-19.
Maxie received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Texas Tech University Health Science Center. Maxie also holds a Master of Science in Health-System Pharmacy Administration and completed two years of post-graduate training in health-system administration from the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics.
