Shaunak Roy

Shaunak Roy has extensive experience in research and development within the medical device and biotechnology sectors. Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Research and Development at Visby Medical since June 2016, Shaunak has held several leadership positions, including Vice President of Research and Development and Director of Assay Integration. Prior experience includes roles at InSilixa, managing the development of instrumentation based on proprietary CMOS biosensor arrays, and GeneWeave Biosciences, where Shaunak was instrumental in developing a benchtop instrument for bacteria detection. Shaunak's background also features significant contributions at Complete Genomics, focusing on high-throughput sequencing technology, and earlier roles at a private medical startup and UOP, where foundational engineering skills were developed. Educational credentials include a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University.
