Declan Clausen is a Newcastle Labor Councillor currently serving a fourth term with a commitment to sustainability, equality, and community revitalization. Previously, Declan served as Deputy Lord Mayor from 2017 to 2024, where key achievements included the development of the Summerhill Solar Farm and the Sustainable Waste Strategy. Declan holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Urban Development from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) with Honours from the University of Newcastle. Additionally, Declan is the Group Manager of Strategy & External Affairs at Hunter Water and serves as a Non-Executive Director at Vision Super and the Newcastle Art Gallery Foundation.
