Douglas Zimmerman

Douglas Zimmerman has worked in various roles since 1980. Douglas's first role was as a Wilderness Trip Staff at Camp Nebagamon in 1980, where they were a trip guide for canoeing and backpacking in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, the Canadian Quetico, Porcupine Mountains, and the Kekekabic trail. In 1982, they became the Program Director at Cal-Wood, where they were part of the leadership team designing a new education center, from curriculum and ropes courses to road construction. In 1986, they were a Program Associate at The Boston Plan for Excellence and an Instructor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Douglas then became the Program Officer at the Boston Community Foundation in 1988 and the Vice President at Jobs for the Future in 1992, where they were responsible for the growing program staff and focused on the gaps between the skills of high school graduates and the demands of college and career. In 1996, they became the President & CEO of Visionlink Software & Consulting. Most recently, in 2018, they became the Chair of the Board of Directors at Avancera Partners, which focuses on select initiatives to support collaborative networks of nonprofit organizations.

Douglas Zimmerman obtained their M.Ed & Ed.D. in Education, Change Management from Harvard University between 1987 and 1991. Prior to that, they completed their B.A. in Political Science, Urban Planning from St. Olaf College between 1978 and 1982.
