L'America B. has extensive work experience in human resources and leadership roles. L'America began their career in 2007 as a Front Desk Manager at Indianapolis Marriott Downtown. L'America then moved on to become a Human Resources Coordinator and later a Human Resources Manager at the same company. In 2014, L'America joined Hamilton County Government in Indiana as a Human Resources Administrator of Professional Development. In 2015, they joined Visit Indy as a Human Resources Manager. L'America progressed within the company, holding the titles of Director of Human Resources and Senior Director of Human Resources and DEI. L'America has demonstrated expertise in HR management and has a strong background in professional development.
L'America B. has a Bachelor of Science degree in Tourism Management from Indiana University Bloomington. Additionally, they have a Master of Science degree in Technology with a field of study in Organizational Leadership and Supervision (Human Resources) from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis.
In terms of certifications, L'America B. holds a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education, obtained in May 2021. They also obtained a SHRM-CP certification from SHRM in January 2015, as well as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in December 2014.
