Barbara Young

Dr. Barbara J. Young is a retired pediatrician who practiced medicine on Long Island for 14 years, including 8 years as a sole practitioner. Dr. Young brings a diverse career background to VNSHS, having graduated with a B.A. in mathematics from CUNY Hunter College and working as a systems programmer for NY Life Insurance and Grumman Data Systems prior to pursuing her medical career. In 1989, Dr. Young earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical School, and went on to complete her pediatrics internship at North Shore University Hospital and her pediatric residency at Stony Brook University Hospital. An active community volunteer, Dr. Young has dedicated her time to VNSHS and St. Anthony’s Parish Outreach.
