Shawn Foster

Shawn Foster is a Senior Software Engineer at Visiture and has over six years of experience in web development. Shawn got their start in web development when they were hired as a Senior Software Developer at Maga Design, Inc. in July 2017. There, Shawn was responsible for designing and developing the architecture for a scalable Enterprise Node and React platform from the ground up. In addition to building routing, data management systems, models, controllers, and services using MySQL/MongoDB, Node, Express, and React, Shawn also refactored legacy PHP Applications as needed. Shawn provided technical insight and communication to leadership and worked closely with designers and UI/UX strategists to determine the best design for the platform.

In May 2014, Shawn began working as a Web Development Instructor - Code Camp for the Charleston Digital Corridor. In this role, Shawn helped plan curriculum and delivered meaningful instruction to prospective employees for tech companies in the Charleston Area. Shawn provided students with a wealth of experiences to help prepare them to make their mark in the Tech industry and worked closely with students to ensure that they understood HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, the Web Stack and were able to bring all of those elements together to create a fully functional website.

Shawn’s experience in web development and their dedication to helping others learn has made him an asset to Visiture. In their current role as Senior Software Engineer, Shawn is responsible for leading a team of engineers in designing and developing software solutions. Shawn’s team also provides support and maintenance for existing software applications.

Shawn Foster has a Master of Information Systems from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Education from Walden University. Shawn's undergraduate degree is in Childhood Education 1-6 from SUNY Oneonta. Shawn is certified in Magento Certified Developer Plus, Magento Certified Developer, and Adobe Certified Professional—Adobe Commerce Developer from Magento, an Adobe Company.
