Dan Heidebrecht has worked in a variety of roles since 2005. Dan began their career as a Software Engineer at Daylife in 2005, where they created a distributed/grid based service for downloading and analyzing RSS feeds from 25,000 sources. Dan then moved on to become a Senior Software Engineer at Deep Web Technologies in 2007, where they were the Principal Investigator for a U.S. Department of Energy Advanced Research Project. In the same year, they started their own business, Daniel Heidebrecht, LLC, where they acted as a Consultant and developed a high availability audio/video file transfer/streaming service. In 2012, they joined MyFitnessPal as a Software Engineer, where they implemented a 3rd party API for a high volume consumer web/mobile application. In 2013, they co-founded Unclip and acted as the CTO until it was acquired by Samsung in 2017. Dan then worked as the Director of Server Engineering at Samsung Electronics America in 2017. In 2018, they became the Senior Manager of SRE at ASAPP, and in 2019 they were appointed the CTO of Parallel Labs Inc. In 2020, they joined VISO Trust as the Principal Architect of Machine Learning/Data Engineering, and in 2021 they became the Principal Engineer at Protagonist.
