Jason Carreira has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering and development industry. Jason began their career in 2000 as a Software Architect at Notiva, where they were involved in system architecture, planning, budgeting, tools selection, and process definition for a large-scale financial transaction platform. In 2002, they became a Core Developer on Xwork / WebWork2 at OpenSymphony, where they worked on a rewrite of the opensource web application framework WebWork. From 2004 to 2007, they worked as a Software Development Manager / Architect at ePlus, where they architected and lead development of a next-gen application architecture to be used as basis for future application development. Jason then worked as a Contractor at Xerox from 2007 to 2008, where they led development and maintenance of existing high-volume fax service and architected a grid-based SOA and integration platform. Jason then worked as a Senior Software Engineer / Architect at Perspective Partners LLC from 2009 to 2018, followed by a role as a Solution Architect at M&T Bank from 2018 to 2020. Currently, they are a Principal Software Engineer at VISO Trust and a Senior Software Engineer at encaptiv.

Jason Carreira attended Rice University from 1991 to 1994, studying Physics. Jason then attended The University of Georgia from 1994 to 1997, where they earned a BFA in Fine Art Photography. In October 2018, they obtained a certification in Reactive Architecture Foundations from IBM. In November 2019, they became a Triplebyte certified Generalist Software Engineer.
