Jacko van der Stege has a diverse work experience in various industries. Jacko started their career as a trainee/student at ABN AMRO in 1995. Jacko later became a director at De Groot Vroomshoop, a subsidiary of VolkerWessels, where they provided housing solutions. In 2005, they founded their consultancy firm called BouwtaaK, specializing in cooperation and collaboration in the construction sector.

In 2008, they joined the Ubbink Centrotherm Group as the CEO, where they provided innovative solutions to increase energy efficiency in buildings. Jacko also served as the Director Building International before leaving in 2012. During the same year, they became the Global Business Development Director at Visscher-Caravelle.

Additionally, Jacko van der Stege was a member of the Management Board at Centrotec Sustainable AG from 2010 to 2012. Currently, they are an Advisory Board Member at International Business Research Groningen, providing advice to the board for a student-run international research project focused on Dutch companies expanding into Indonesia and Mexico.

Jacko van der Stege obtained their MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Twente, which they attended from 1990 to 1996. In 1999, they earned a degree in Business Marketing (Nima B) from Nima Business Marketing. Additionally, they completed coursework in Managing Organizational Change and Development at SIOO from 2007 to 2008.
