Loretta Raines has extensive work experience in the field of medical laboratory technology. Loretta began their career as a Medical Technologist at White County Memorial Hospital in 1969, where they performed a variety of laboratory tests. Loretta then worked as a Research Technician at the Veterans Administration Hospital from 1970 to 1973, conducting Mycobacterium research in collaboration with prestigious organizations such as the World Health Organization and the National Institutes of Health.

Following that, Loretta served as a Medical Technologist at Poplar Bluff Regional (Doctors Hospital) from 1973 to 1977, where they continued to perform general laboratory testing. Loretta then became a Medical Technologist and Laboratory Manager at Oakhaven Women's Clinic in Missouri, where they managed the outpatient clinic laboratory and performed routine diagnostic procedures.

In 1982, Loretta transitioned to the Bureau of Land Management, working as a Records Management Specialist and serving as the Automated Data Processing Coordinator. Loretta gained valuable experience in electronic computers during this time.

From 1984 to 2007, Loretta served as a Medical Technologist and Laboratory Information Manager at the John J Pershing Veterans Administration Hospital. In addition to performing various laboratory tests, they managed laboratory information systems, trained personnel, and ensured compliance with accreditation requirements.
