Vista Community Clinic
Dorothy Lujan joined the VCC team in 1983 because she was committed to working in health care and working with underserved communities. She also wanted to work with like-minded individuals seeking to improve the health care of the community. Ms. Lujan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) with extensive experience in community health and women’s health. In 2008, the County of San Diego named Ms. Lujan “Public Health Champion.”
At VCC Ms. Lujan is responsible for compliance and ensuring that we’re following the required rules and regulations so we can continue to provide services to our patients. She also works with patients and staff to improve health care outcomes to create a healthier community. Ms. Lujan helped VCC achieve Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) accreditation and, in her over thirty years with VCC, has taken pleasure in watching the growth and development of the clinic and the expansion of services. Seeing the difference we make in people’s lives because of our programs and services also inspires Ms. Lujan.
