Engineering Lead at Visual Components

Tatu Sara-aho began their work experience as a Software Testing Trainee at ABB in 2013. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Junior Robotics Engineer at GIM Robotics, where they were involved in software development, robot assembly, and maintenance. Tatu then moved up to become a Robotics Engineer, focusing on algorithm design and software development in C++ and Python. In 2020, they transitioned to the role of Senior Robotics Engineer, where they developed object detection and tracking software for autonomous driving and mobile robots using agile methodologies. Tatu also gained experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines and deploying software with Docker. From 2022 to 2022, Tatu worked at Basemark as a Software Engineer, contributing to the development of an automotive augmented reality product. Tatu worked on software development tasks and assisted with software integration cycles. Currently, Tatu is employed at Visual Components as a Software Developer, starting in 2023.

Tatu Sara-aho completed a Master of Science - M.Sc. (Tech) degree program in Automation and Electrical Engineering at Aalto University from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, Tatu also pursued a Bachelor of Science - BS (Tech) degree in the same field at Aalto University from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their academic qualifications, Tatu obtained a certification as a Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I) from Scrum.org in February 2021.
