William Smith has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. William started their career as an Intern at Jacksonville Community Council, Inc in 2005. In 2002, they served as a Section Leader in the United States Marine Corps for six years. After leaving the military, they worked as a Senior Customer Service Representative at Citi from 2005 to 2009. Following this, they taught English as an English Teacher at Chungdahm Learning from 2009 to 2011. William then worked as a Project Coordinator at WTBC Limited for a short period in 2011. William continued their project-based roles as a Project Assistant at Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences from 2011 to 2012, and later at the University of Lapland in 2012. Finally, they joined Visual Components in 2012 and held various positions, including Technical Writer from 2012 to 2018, Application Engineer from 2018 to 2019, and currently as a Product Owner.

William Smith earned their Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, from 2015 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Specialization Certificate in International Project Management from Rovaniemen ammattikorkeakoulu in 2011-2012. William also holds a Masters in Public Administration, which they completed at the University of North Florida in 2006-2007. William had previously earned a Bachelor of Arts, with a double major in Political Science and Criminal Justice, from the same university from 2002 to 2006.

In addition to their academic degrees, William has obtained multiple certifications. William holds the Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner from Scrum Alliance, obtained in October 2021. William is also a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from Scrum Alliance, obtained in March 2019.
