Mehandra Rao is a board member at Vita Therapeutics and has over 20 years of experience in the field of regenerative medicine. Mehandra was the founding director of the Center for Regenerative Medicine at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and has helped develop more than 400 iPSC lines that can be used for screening and therapy. Rao also served as the section chief at the National Institute on Aging, where they worked on stem cells and neural development. In addition to their work at the NIH, Rao has also served as a consultant for Geron, Amedica Corporation, and StemCells Inc. Mehandra is also an adjunct professor at the Buck Institute for Age Research.
Mehandra Rao has a PhD in Biology from Caltech and an MBBS in Medicine from the University of Mumbai.
