Christina Makris

Christina Makris is currently working as an Analytical Scientist at VitaKey Inc. Previously, Christina was a Ph.D Graduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Barbara, focusing on studying Fe(III)-scavenging metabolites. During this time, Christina also gained teaching experience. Prior to that, Christina worked as a Research Assistant at MARBIONIC, Center for Marine Science at UNCW, where Christina contributed to drug discovery research. As a NOAA Hollings Intern at the NOAA Office of Education, Christina developed a method for measuring plasticizers in environmental samples. Christina holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Natural Products Chemistry from UC Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from University of North Carolina Wilmington.
