We intend to expand beyond these markets to power the world in other sustainable and abundant ways. 

The organization was founded in 2006 as “Laredo Petroleum.” In 2023, we changed our name to Vital Energy to reflect our commitment to grow past our roots in the oil and gas business into other forms of energy that can fuel the future.
