Karl Towle

Karl Towle has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Karl began their career at Bell Laboratories as a Member of Technical Staff, where they played a significant role in the design and development of automated cross-connect systems. Karl then joined Larscom as a Staff Engineer, contributing to the design and development of advanced network access equipment. At Cisco Systems, Karl worked as a Hardware Engineer, designing and developing advanced mid-range router technologies. Following this, they worked at Liskar Communications as a Web Developer, analyzing, designing, and developing web presence and internet-based services for small to medium-sized organizations. Karl then joined McClatchy Interactive as a Support Developer and later as a Software Developer, contributing to the improvement and evolution of their content management and web production systems. Currently, Karl is working at VitalSource, where they have held roles as a Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Lead Software Engineer, and is now a Principal Engineer. Throughout their career, Karl has consistently demonstrated their expertise in various technical roles and has made notable contributions to the development of innovative technologies and systems.

Karl Towle attended Cornell University from 1984 to 1985, where they earned a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to that, they studied at Northeastern University from 1981 to 1984 and received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
