Michael Hale

Michael Hale has an extensive background in education and leadership, currently serving as the Chief Content and Learning Officer at VitalSource since April 2004, where Michael has also held roles as Vice President - Education for North America, Vice President of Sales, Director of Publisher Relations, and Director of Custom Solutions. Prior to VitalSource, Michael Hale was the Director of Programs and Outreach for GearUP NC at the University of North Carolina, and served as an Assistant Professor at both Appalachian State University and North Carolina Central University. Michael Hale's career began in educational administration as the Dean of Instruction at Kestrel Heights and included a role as Associate Director at the NATIONAL PAIDEIA CENTER INC. Michael Hale began as a Social Studies Teacher at Dunwoody High School. Educational credentials include a PhD and MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BA in Philosophy from Auburn University.
