James Tulsky serves as the Poorvu Jaffe Chair and Chair of the Department of Supportive Oncology and the Department of Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, positions held since September 2015. Additionally, James Tulsky is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and has co-founded and serves as a Board Member for VitalTalk since July 2012. As Chief of the Division of Palliative Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital since September 2015, James Tulsky previously held the role of Chief of Duke Palliative Care at Duke University Health System until July 2015 and was a Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center from 1993 to July 2015. Prior experiences include serving as Director of the Center for Palliative Care at Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Chief Medical Resident at UCSF Medical Center. Educational qualifications include an MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and a Clinical Scholar degree from the University of California, San Francisco. James Tulsky completed undergraduate studies at Cornell University, earning an A.B. in Biology and Society.
