Alex Fernandez

Alex Fernandez has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. Alex currently serves as the EVP & Chief Financial Officer at VITAS Healthcare since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Broward Health, where they held various roles including SVP & Chief Financial Officer from 2019 to 2023, VP Financial Operations from 2017 to 2019, and Broward Health Medical Center & Chris Evert Children's Hospital - CFO from 2014 to 2017. Before joining Broward Health, Alex worked at Tenet Healthcare, where they held positions such as Good Samaritan Medical Center - COO from 2012 to 2014, North Shore Medical Center - CFO from 2006 to 2012, Good Samaritan Medical Center - Asst Controller from 2005 to 2006, and St. Mary's Medical Center - Staff Accountant from 2002 to 2005.

Alex Fernandez received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University in 2008. Prior to that, they completed an MBA in Business Administration at Florida Atlantic University from 2004 to 2005. Alex earned a Bachelors degree in Finance from Florida State University from 1998 to 2002. Additionally, they obtained the Certified Public Accountant certification from the Florida & Georgia Board of Accountancy's in 2010.
