Joel Wherley

Joel Wherley is the COO at Vitas. Joel has extensive experience in healthcare operations, sales, and clinical management. Joel was brought on board at Hospice Advantage in March 2014 as a division vice president and change agent. Under their leadership, the company saw increased profitability, reduced turnover, and improved hiring practices. Joel also introduced a new sales management structure and realigned the company's regions to be more efficient. In January 2016, they joined Vitas to continue their work in improving healthcare operations.

Joel Wherley completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from the University of Illinois Springfield. Joel also holds an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) in Respiratory Care Therapy/Therapist from Lincoln Land Community College.

Joel Wherley reports to Nick Westfall, CEO. They are on a team with Diane Psaras - Chief Human Resources Officer, Peggy Pettit - Executive Vice President, and Joseph Shega - Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer.
