Richard Bakalar

Richard Bakalar, M.D. serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Bakalar Consulting since March 2024, focusing on healthcare consulting services to facilitate the adoption and scaling of digital health and telemedicine innovations. As Chief Strategy Advisor at ViTel Net since October 2017, Richard works with the leadership team to enhance the telehealth experience for customers. Richard has a long-standing involvement with the American Telemedicine Association, having served as Past President and holding various positions on the board since 1996. Prior roles include Managing Director at KPMG's Global Center of Excellence for Health, Physician Executive at Microsoft, and Chief Medical Officer at IBM. Richard's extensive experience in the military includes serving as a Medical Officer and Telemedicine Project Manager for the United States Navy. Education credentials include an M.D. from the Uniformed Services University and a BA from Rice University.
