Karen Medina

Karen Medina has worked in the healthcare industry since 2006. Karen began their career as an Office Manager at Beth Israel Medical Center, where they established a practice, applied PR skills to nurture relationships between upper management and staff, and fielded patient complaints to transform the company image. In 2010, they took on the role of Office Manager at Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, LLC, where they managed operations, human resources, administration, and payroll for clinical and administrative staff. From 2016-2017, they held the positions of Practice Manager at Paramount Healthcare and Manhattan Gastroenterology, where they expanded business growth by 70% and developed protocol for daily and monthly JCAHO logs, respectively. In 2016, they became the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Operations at Manhattan Specialty Care, where they directed overall operations for 3 practices, managed 7 site managers, identified and implemented new inventory platforms, negotiated vendor contracts, ensured credentialing and compliance, and facilitated construction projects. Most recently, in 2021, they assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer at Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants of New York.

Karen Medina obtained a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from St. Joseph's University New York. Additionally, they hold an Administrators Certificate from the American Physical Therapy Association and an HR Generalist Certificate from SHRM.
