Engkee Kwang

Chief Architect, Applications at Vitria Technology, Inc.

Engkee Kwang has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Engkee started their career at Trimeter Technologies in 1986 as a Project Manager, where they led and managed a design team responsible for developing a logic synthesis system for computer aided hardware design. From 1989 to 1990, they worked as a Technical Lead at Mentor Graphics, providing technical leadership to the synthesis group. Engkee then co-founded and served as the Vice-President of Software Development at PI Systems from 1990 to 1995, playing a key role in developing corporate, technology, and product strategies. After that, from 1995 to 1998, they co-founded and served as the CTO of Tactica, where they were responsible for technology vision, product development, and general management. Engkee's most recent position, which they held since 1999, is the Chief Architect of Applications at Vitria Technology. In this role, they developed the next generation modeling, management, monitoring, and operations environment for IT and business users, addressing the full lifecycle of an application. Engkee'sresponsibilities also included accommodating the dynamic nature of business needs and users' technical skills, while providing the right tools and perspective for different use cases.

Engkee Kwang earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This education spanned from 1981 to 1984. Subsequently, Engkee Kwang pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, completing the program in 1986.
