Samuel Barnes

Sam serves as the Chief Managed Care Officer of VIVO Infusion providing expertise and guidance on the enterprise payer contracting & credentialing activities. Sam has been involved in payer contracting and managed care negotiations for 10+ years across various organizations. Prior to joining VIVO Infusion, Sam served as the founder and CEO of PayrAdvisors, LLC a multi-specialty managed care consulting firm working with various clients from academic medical centers, private equity groups to national and regional physician MSO roll ups.

Prior to starting his consulting business, Sam served as the Director of Managed Care at Envision Healthcare with significant responsibility over the central United States. Managing a portfolio of >$2B in commercial and managed Medicare / Medicaid revenue responsible for negotiating fee for service and value-based agreements that resulted in topline revenue increases as well as arbitration and payer disputes.

Sam is a graduate from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville with his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and holds a master’s degree from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. Mr. Barnes is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Finance Management Association.
