Jeff Guin has an extensive work experience in the field of technology and digital initiatives. Jeff started their career in 1995 as Communications Coordinator at Willamette Industries, Inc. In 2001, they became Public Information Officer and Public Relations & Marketing Manager at the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training. From 2007 to 2011, they were an Adjunct Instructor of Journalism at Northwestern State University of Louisiana and a Syndicated Columnist for a newspaper. In 2011, they became Manager of Emerging Media at Chemical Heritage Foundation, and in 2014 they were Digital Outreach Strategist at Wolfsonian-FIU. In 2016, they took on the role of Director of Technology & Digital Initiatives at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, for which they received the inaugural Knight Foundation Museums and Technology Grant. Additionally, since 2008, they have been the Creator, Managing Editor and Podcaster of Voices of the Past Heritage Media. Jeff also developed a course in 2011 titled "Digital Heritage as a Tool of Public Engagement with the Past" at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Jeff Guin obtained their M.A. in English with a focus in Folklife and Southern Culture from Northwestern State University in 2002. Jeff had previously earned their B.A. in Journalism from the same university in 1995.
