Volunteer and Internship Manager at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Oldine Monestime has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Oldine started their career as a Multimedia Trainee at CNN in 2008, where they gained experience in technical operations and completed editorial tasks. Oldine then worked as a Freelancer at Island Television, where they reported on North Miami events, assisted with critiquing on-air talent, and conducted interviews with local figures and non-profit organizations.

In 2012, Oldine joined Best Buddies International as a Grant Intern, where they researched prospective donors and drafted grant proposals. Oldine also worked in the Private School Sector as an English/Language Arts Teacher, creating and following weekly lesson plans to strengthen students' grammar, reading, and writing skills.

Oldine continued their teaching career at Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where they developed grade-specific lesson plans for second-grade students and used various strategies to engage them in reading and writing. Oldine then transitioned to the role of Freelancer at WPBT2 - South Florida PBS, conducting research for live call-in specials and serving as a telephone liaison.

In 2016, Oldine returned to Island TV as a Freelance Producer, where they produced a talk show targeting teenagers and young adults. Oldine'sresponsibilities included pitching show ideas, researching content, training on-air talent, securing guests, and editing content.

From 2017 to 2019, Oldine worked as a Learning and Development Coordinator at Cross Country Home Services, where they facilitated employee training programs. Oldine then joined Full Fruition Productions in 2019 as a Video Producer.

Most recently, Oldine has been working at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens since 2020. Oldine started as a Learning Program Facilitator and later took on roles as a BeyondVizcaya Host and Co-producer, Volunteer Activities Fellow, and currently serves as the Volunteer and Internship Manager. In their current role, they lead recruitment efforts, develops and expands the internship program, and builds relationships with community-based and academic organizations to support volunteer and intern recruitment.

Oldine Monestime earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Broadcast Journalism from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Additionally, they obtained a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021. Oldine Monestime also possesses a Practitioner Certification for Human Centered Design from LUMA Institute, although the specific month and year of attainment are not provided.
