David Wei

David Wei has a diverse work experience across different companies and roles. David started their career as an intern at MedeAnalytics in November 2014. David then worked as a QA Engineer, where they gathered business requirements, integrated them with developers, and tested implementation code. During this time, David standardized and automated QA test cases. David also trained multiple hires and wrote extensive documentation on the backend framework.

In January 2016, David transitioned to a Business Analyst role at MedeAnalytics, where they managed client relationships and technical development work. David worked with clients to understand their processes, identify areas of improvement, and translate them into development backlog items. David also managed development team sprints and served as the point of contact for client communication.

In 2017, David joined GameStop as a Data Analyst. David worked on various tasks, such as business analysis, reporting, product management, and data strategy. David collaborated with multiple internal departments to automate and build reports, visualize data, and develop new performance metrics. David also integrated and merged multiple technologies into a single source of truth.

Starting in 2018, David joined CVS Health as a Data Engineer. David focused on the development and implementation of data pipelines in and out of multiple data warehouses and data lakes. David designed maintainable and scalable frameworks using shell scripts, PySpark, and Jenkins. David worked on projects of various sizes, ranging from DevOps deployments to Agile team-led projects and proof of concept testing.

Most recently, David joined VIZIO in 2021 as a Data Scientist.

David Wei pursued their education in a sequential manner. David began their collegiate journey in 2011 at Texas A&M University, where they studied journalism until 2013. Afterward, from 2013 to 2015, David attended The University of Texas at Dallas, majoring in Management Information Systems and obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree. Finally, in 2020, they enrolled at Southern Methodist University to pursue a Master of Science degree in Data Science, which they completed in 2021.
