Simon Cmrlec

Simon Cmrlec has extensive experience in operational leadership within the mining and resources sectors. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Vizsla Silver since January 2019, Simon previously held significant roles at Ausenco, including Chief Operating Officer and various presidential positions overseeing operations in the Americas and Asia-Pacific/Africa from February 2009 to April 2024. Earlier in the career, Simon served as Deputy Project Director and Project Manager at Vale, and held commissioning management roles at Aker Kvaerner. The foundational experience includes positions as Acid Plant Superintendent and Plant Metallurgist at WMC Resources. Simon holds a degree in Engineering, specializing in Metallurgy, from the University of South Australia.
