Maarten Maes

Maarten Maes currently serves as Proces & Innovatiebeheerder at Vlaams EnergieBedrijf since March 2015. Previously, Maarten held the position of Manager Energy & Emissions at Brussels Airport Company from 2008 to 2014, where responsibilities included developing an energy vision, achieving energy and carbon emissions targets, and maintaining ISO 50001 certification as the first airport globally. Additionally, Maarten led a non-hierarchical Energy Team and managed the Airport Carbon Accreditation. Earlier experience includes serving as Project Officer Noise & Air at Tessenderlo Group and Supervisor at the Milieucontrolelaboratorium. Maarten holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Sciences and Technology from KU Leuven, a Master's Degree in Chemistry from Groep T - Internationale Hogeschool Leuven, and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven.
