Christopher Bence

Christopher Bence is an experienced professional in emergency management and incident response, currently serving as the Manager Authorised Officers and Incident Response at V/Line since October 2016. In this role, Christopher oversees the operational aspects of the Authorised Officer and Incident Response Department, focusing on compliance with legislative obligations and enhancing safety and security across the V/Line rail network. Prior to this position, Christopher was the Resilience Coordinator at V/Line, ensuring compliance with emergency management responsibilities. Experience also includes serving as Incident Response Manager at Public Transport Victoria, Inspector at Victoria Police in various capacities including emergency response coordination, and Federal Agent with the Australian Federal Police, where responsibilities included advising on crime investigation in Timor-Leste. Christopher holds a Graduate Certificate in Management from the Australian Institute of Police Management and a Bachelor of Social Science in Emergency Management from Charles Sturt University.
