Justin Wastnage has a wealth of experience in the travel, tourism and aviation sectors. Justin began their career in 2002 as a Video Producer for HowWasIt? Productions. In 2004, they took on the role of Technical Consultant for Wastnage Ten 26. In 2007, they became News Editor for Travel Weekly at Reed Business Information Asia. In 2008, they took on the role of Contributing Editor - Australia for Asian Aviation at Asian Trade Press Pte Ltd. From 2011 to 2015, they were Director, Aviation Policy and National Manager, Aviation at the Tourism & Transport Forum. During this time, they developed evidence-based policy campaigns to inform thinking and influence policy changes across a number of aviation and tourism issues. From 2015 to 2018, they were Principal at Message Shapers Public Affairs, a public affairs consultancy specialising in the travel and aviation sectors. In 2016, they became a Member of the Board at Aviation/Aerospace Australia. In 2018, they became CEO and Founder of Vloggi, the world's first collaborative video platform, as well as a Non-resident Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program Fellow at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney.
Justin Wastnage obtained a BA (Hons) 2:i in French & European Studies from the University of Derby between 1993 and 1997. Justin then went on to receive a Certificat d'études politiques from Institut d'études politiques de Rennes in 1995, with a focus on Politics, economics, and history. In 2013, Justin obtained a Cert IV Frontline Management from Leadership Management Australasia. In 2020, they completed the Antler Launch Academy at Antler, and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration - MBA with a focus on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Technology Sydney, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
