Luis Romero

Luis Romero is a seasoned researcher in biotechnology with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as a Researcher at VLP Therapeutics LLC since March 2023, Luis contributes to the COVID/Influenza team, focusing on the development of a novel vaccine platform utilizing lipid nanoparticles. Previously, from February 2019 to 2022, Luis was a Research Associate at Leidos, specializing in molecular characterization and performing NGS assays on PDX samples, with expertise in RNA sequencing and whole exome sequencing on the Illumina platform. Luis's background also includes a role as a Biologist at ATCC, where work involved immortalizing and characterizing primary cells for new product development. Early career stages featured internships at Trevigen, Inc., and Intrexon Corporation, where valuable experience was gained in immuno-oncology and other research endeavors. Luis holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Georgetown University, a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and an Associate of Science from Montgomery College.
